Improving economic regulation of water and sewerage services

Published

The Northern Territory Government has developed reform directions to improve the economic regulation of water supply and sewerage services.

The reforms directions were developed in consultation with stakeholders, and aim to ensure that these services meet the long-term interests of customers and the community, and support the long-term sustainability of service providers.

Water supply and sewerage services are essential to Territorians, enable business activity and economic development, and support amenity and liveability of our communities. Economic regulation places rules on service providers to ensure that these services are affordable, reliable and safe.

For more information about the reform directions and how you can participate in future consultation opportunities to support their implementation, read improving economic regulation of water and sewerage services.
